Call for Mentors: Join BEC’s 2026 Mentorship Program
Shaping Futures. Changing the Face of Engineering.
Black Engineers of Canada (BEC) is proud to launch our 2026 Virtual Mentorship Series, and we’re calling on engineers across Canada to step forward.
Mentorship is one of the most powerful ways to build confidence, accelerate careers, and cultivate a more inclusive engineering workforce. And the best part? You don’t need to be Black to participate. We welcome all people in Canada who want to support and uplift Black engineering talent.

Why Mentorship Matters
Mentorship is more than technical guidance—it's about sharing the roadmap to thriving in engineering.
From Classroom to Career
A mentor might help a student transform an academic project into a portfolio piece that lands their first job.
Navigating Workplace Dynamics
A new graduate or a new professional immigrant may learn how to navigate real-world challenges—like being the only Black engineer on a team—and turn isolation into influence.
Opening Doors
A single introduction from a mentor can change a career trajectory:
• to a hiring manager
• a project lead
• an industry network
The Ripple Effect
Your impact goes far beyond one conversation.
The person you mentor today could be a project lead in a few years, a business owner later, and eventually a mentor shaping someone else’s future.
2026 Mentorship Series Schedule
BEC will host six bi-monthly virtual sessions, each featuring breakout rooms, panel conversations, and guided introductions between mentors and mentees.
All sessions run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET on:
January 27, 2026
March 10, 2026
May 21, 2026
July 7, 2026
September 29, 2026

Mentors can select one or more sessions to attend.
Each session begins a 4.5-month mentorship commitment with the mentee you choose to work with.
